Eddie Hearn excited ahead of "intriguing" Leigh Wood vs. Michael Conlan fightDAZN
Leigh Wood and Michael Conlan square off in Nottingham on March 12th.

Eddie Hearn is expecting a “spicy’ build-up between Leigh Wood and Michael Conlan ahead of their excellent encounter on March 12th. The confident pair meet at Nottingham Arena, live on DAZN, and with featherweight glory on the line, Hearn is expecting both fighters to get vocal as the battle gets closer.

With WBA honours at stake, Wood, who won the crown by defeating Can Xu last summer, has finally arrived on the big stage following a career toiling for opportunities. Conlan, essentially a superstar from day one due to his stellar amateur background, isn’t concerned by the threat awaits him. Hearn is relishing the exchanges from both before the first bell sounds.

“I think these two will get and nice and spicy if I'm being honest with you,” predicted an excited Hearn in an exclusive chat with DAZN. “There’s a lot on the line. If that fight gets upgraded to the super championship, which I believe it is, then what an opportunity for both guys. This is a life changing moment for both fighters.

“I think it’s an absolutely brilliant fight. With Kiko Martinez and Josh Warrington a few weeks later, I expect the winners to fight in a really big unification fight. There’s so many big fights in this division, and this is a really good and intriguing fight.”
