John Ryder faces a big decision in regards to his career.

John Ryder is at a crossroads when it comes to his future in boxing.

On Saturday night, Ryder was on the wrong end of a brutal loss to the hard-hitting Mexican Jaime Munguia.

The British fighter was knocked down four times before the contest was brought to an end in the ninth with Munguia now looking to secure a date with undisputed super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

For Ryder, this was a second consecutive loss and now there are questions as to whether his career in boxing will continue.

Speaking to ProBox TV after the fight, Ryder's promoter Eddie Hearn believes that this defeat could be the end of the road for the 35-year-old.

"I think it's always difficult straight after a fight, but having reached the heights he's reached — particularly the Canelo Alvarez fight and the Munguia fight, I think there is a chance that could be the end of the road for him," Hearn said.

"We really thought he could win tonight, and he did, too."
