Eddie Hearn has defended his stance on the recent purse bid situation that saw Dalton Smith and Adam Azim ordered to fight.
A deal wasn't agreed, and it now appears that Azim is heading in a different direction with Harlem Eubank likely to be his next opponent.
Last year, a similar scenario played out when Fabio Wardley and Frazer Clarke couldn’t finalise a contest although that fight did eventually take place.
Hearn, a staunch defender of Matchroom, has hit out over the repeated pullouts.
“You can talk about we’re a victim of the game and they don’t want to work with us, it’s absolutely rubbish, you’ve only got to look at the facts,” said Hearn when speaking to Matchroom Boxing.
“When we were working on negotiations for the Fabio Wardley Frazer Clarke purse bid they pulled out of negotiations, and they’ve just done it again with Azim and Dalton Smith. It’s hilarious.
