Eddie Hearn was the recipient of some choice worlds from Leonard Ellerbe.

Eddie Hearn isn’t letting criticism from Leonard Ellerbe affect him too much.

The CEO of Mayweather Promotions, a man who holds some responsibility for the careers of Floyd Mayweather and Gervonta Davis, took to social media recently to address comments from Hearn that Mayweather didn’t want Canelo Alvarez to get close to his legacy.

Ellerbe tweeted, “I’ve said and I’ll continue to say it imo he’s the biggest piece of s—t of boxing period. Floyd and Canelo are from two diff cultures. They shared the ring and we all know the result. I respect Canelo, he’s a boss and a terrific fighter. Floyd paved the way for Canelo!!”

Sitting with Kugan Cassius from IFL TV, Hearn responded to Ellerbe’s outburst.

"Why would I be the biggest piece of s—t in boxing?” asked the Matchroom chairman.

“I couldn’t treat the fighters any better, I pay the fighters as much as we possibly can, I pay the fighters on time, I work harder than you could possibly work every single day. There’s not a lot more I can do really.”

Hearn added, “There’s no point in us stopping now. There was a time when I was going to reach out to Leonard and go ‘what’s the matter? I don’t understand,’ but there’s no point now is there? We’ll just sign Gervonta Davis. That’ll be quite funny.”
