Despite spending the best part of last week in New Orleans promoting Regis Prograis, Eddie Hearn couldn’t avoid the anger of John Fury.
The father of Tyson and Tommy, Fury Sr is often outspoken and with his eldest son frequently linked to a fight with Anthony Joshua, conflict with Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, is never far away.
With the next move of Joshua and Fury still unconfirmed, talk of a bout between the two never seems to go anywhere with both sides putting the blame at the opposite party.
Fury Sr, an ex-fighter, is an ardent defender of his children and he couldn’t resist a dig at Hearn when recently speaking about his son and Joshua.
"That man is a total p----, and when I see him, smack. Right in the ear hole and I mean that,” said Fury Sr when speaking to IFLTV.
"[Anthony Joshua] is a gentleman, and he's done what he can for this country, but I'll tell you now, if he comes round John Fury, I'll backhand that bum.”
Hearn, when responding to Fury via the same media outlet, found the entire situation funny as he laughed continuously at Fury’s comments.
