Eddie Hearn lists who he wants for Canelo Alvarez's next three fightsDAZN

Eddie Hearn has revealed what his three-fight plan for Canelo Alvarez would be as the Mexican icon looks to get back to winning ways later this year.

In May, Canelo lost for the first time in nine years when he was outpointed by Dmitry Bivol as he looked to win another world title at 175lbs, but the defeat hasn’t hurt his ambition as he faces Gennadiy Golovkin on September 17th.

Moving back into the win column against his great rival is likely to see Canelo seek further big tests and a rematch with Bivol is one score that the 31-year-old would love to settle.

That’s a fight Hearn would love to make, and he made no secret of that when revealing his wish list for Canelo’s future when he was a guest on The DAZN Boxing Show

“Gennadiy Golovkin, Dmitry Bivol, and I think [David] Benavidez is a big fight, in time,” said Hearn when asked by Ak and Barak what Canelo’s next three fights look like.

"Once [Benavidez] fights a genuine elite fighter, in terms of size, I'd [try to make a fight with Canelo]," added Hearn when Barak offered Jermall Charlo as an alternative to Benavidez.

“When people talk about how Canelo should fight Benavidez and Charlo, which would be voluntary defences of his 168lbs titles, it doesn’t stoke anything in Canelo.

"When we talk about Bivol, Canelo likes the idea of going up to 175lbs and challenging someone.

"Maybe Canelo shouldn't have. Maybe he should have just boxed Charlo. But we have to respect the guy because it’s like he wants to handicap himself.”
