Eddie Hearn enjoyed a great night in Saudi Arabia earlier this month as he watched Anthony Joshua destroy Francis Ngannou in two rounds.
It was almost a bittersweet night for the Matchroom boss though as Justis Huni, another one of his heavyweights, almost came unstuck against Kevin Lerena.
The Australian star has impressed on his climb up the rankings, but he was almost made to pay when he was hurt by the former world title challenger late on.
Huni survived the onslaught to win on points and stay unbeaten, and Hearn has spoken about his prospect since the fight ended.
“When you think about it, are we moving him a little bit too quickly?” asked Hearn when speaking to Matchroom Boxing.
“His eighth fight was against Andrew Tabiti, which was a tough fight in Mexico, former world title challenger. And the second fight, the ninth fight, was against Kevin Lerena, who’s a former world champion at cruiserweight.
“But they want to move him quick, and he has got a fantastic amateur pedigree as well. He has to improve off the back of that performance.”
