Eddie Hearn has revealed he has received a phone call from Devin Haney who has told his former promoter to make a fight between him and Regis Prograis.
Hearn knows Haney well from their time together, but the recent part of his career has been conducted without any involvement from Hearn or Matchroom.
Earlier this month, Haney retained his world titles at 135lbs with a controversial win over Vasiliy Lomachenko.
With many believing the Ukrainian won, a rematch between the pair could make sense, but Hearn has admitted he’s spoken with Haney and that a fight with WBC super lightweight champion Prograis is something he wants.
“He called me the other night and we had a great conversation,’ said Hearn when speaking on The DAZN Boxing Show. “He wants to fight Regis Prograis.
“It’s a tremendous fight. He wants to move up to 140. He’s identified Regis Prograis as the fight that he wants and I think it’s unbelievable fight.”
