Following Tyson Fury’s lacklustre win over Francis Ngannou, Eddie Hearn believes Fury’s undisputed clash with Oleksandr Usyk is no longer the biggest fight in the division.
After Ngannou’s impressive showing, Hearn, the promoter of Anthony Joshua, says his man against Ngannou is now the blockbuster battle at heavyweight.
Fury’s poor outing against Ngannou has likely led to his December 23 showdown with Usyk being pushed back until next year.
With Ngannou becoming an overnight sensation after pushing Fury all the way, a fight between him and Joshua is now a possibility and Hearn has had his say on that potential contest.
“It’s massive. I don’t think Fury-Usyk is,” said Hearn when speaking to IFLTV.
“AJ against Ngannou is a bigger fight than Fury-Usyk, in my opinion. AJ against Fury is arguable, but Fury is contracted to fight Usyk, so it can’t even happen.
“I wish it did. I’ll tell you something right now. AJ knocks out Tyson Fury.”
