There is still an effort to make this huge heavyweight matchup happen.

All has gone quiet when it comes to negotiations for Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder.

Some fans may have lost hope that this contest will never come to fruition, but Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has given an update on negotiations and has even teased two possible locations for the megafight.

"That fight in my opinion, will 100% happen in the first half of next year, maybe even in the first quarter. I can’t tell you anymore," Hearn told reporters at the press conference for Leigh Wood vs. Josh Warrington.

"I’m talking to Shelly Finkel and we’ve made it crystal clear, as they have to us, we want this fight.

"We’re talking about Vegas, we’re talking about Wembley and we appreciate that money might not be completely the same as what we’ve been offered by Saudi Arabia.

"Money’s always important, but I think both guys genuinely want the fight."

Following Joshua's knockout win over Robert Helenius in August, it was expected a clash with Wilder would be scheduled before the end of 2023 in Saudi Arabia, but after it was announced that Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk would take place in Riyadh, a matchup between "AJ" and the "Bronze Bomber" will likely take place in a different location.
