Anthony Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, believes that a fight with Tyson Fury can be made for later this year.
This comes after the WBC world heavyweight champion made an offer earlier this week to Joshua to make a fight for September and claimed that a contract had been sent to his rival's camp.
But while Hearn revealed that he is yet to receive a contract from Fury, conversations are underway between the two teams about making what would be one of the biggest fights in world boxing.
"[Fury's team has] reached out but no contract has been sent," Hearn told iFL TV.
"We're negotiating a fight with [ex-heavyweight champion] Deontay Wilder [in December] and a fight in August. We are not willing to alter those plans.
"If our plans don't come to fruition we would of course be open to discussing a fight with Tyson Fury. The Tyson Fury fight is a fight Anthony Joshua wants.
"The good news is we're talking, we'll see what happens."
