Are we about to see a big fight later this year?

Leigh Wood produced a stunning comeback last October when he stopped Josh Warrington after being dominated for much of the fight.

The Nottingham man has earned himself a reputation for being one of boxing’s bravest entertainers in recent times and it looks like he could go over old ground later this year by facing Warrington in an immediate rematch.

Wood is eager to return to Nottingham and the possibility of fighting at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground appears closer than ever.

The iconic Premier League stadium, home to the two-time European Cup winners, would be the ideal venue for a second meeting between Wood and Warrington and Eddie Hearn, the promoter of both men, has provided a huge update on the matter.

“May 18th is the proposed date. We're in talks with the club, they've got a big concert on the week after, so it's just about getting the logistics right,” said Hearn on The MMA Hour

“Not to put too much pressure on Nottingham Forest, but it's in the hands of the club. We've got a fight ready to go I believe on May 18th with Wood vs Warrington 2.”
