Eddie Hearn reveals 'personal' exchanges with 'disc jockey' Simon JordanMatchroom Boxing

Eddie Hearn described pundit Simon Jordan as a ‘disc jockey’ after their radio clash earlier in the week.

The two figures have been in the news giving their opinions over various boxing subjects in the past months, and Matchroom chief Hearn joined a discussion on talkSPORT for an in-person exchange.

While opinions differed amongst listeners over who came off the better during the arguments, both men shook hands at the end and Hearn believes he might have put an end to the bulk of the controversy.

However, that did not prevent him giving his own thoughts on the DAZN Boxing Show.

He told Tony Bellew: “What I just kept saying was, ‘You know more actually about every subject in the world than me, but not about boxing.’

“You can’t go mobile phone seller, football club owner, boxing industry expert.

“He’s done his research and he knows more than most but you can't just disregard my opinions, comments, and factual opinions. He made some valid points, he’s good at what he does. The numbers were huge, I should have gotten an appearance fee.”

Hearn then noted Jordan’s current position in perhaps a reductionist light.

“I said to him, ’I’ve done you a right favour.’

“We were going at it in the breaks non-stop, much more personal. I said, ‘You should be thanking me, I’m delivering you unbelievable numbers.’

“[He replied]: 'I don’t care about numbers’

“Of course you do, you're a disc jockey. Your job depends on numbers, like mine. We’re all about the numbers.

“I was a bit flustered at times, he was a bit flustered at times. I should have done it sooner but hopefully that’s a line through the situation.”
