After watching Jake Paul fall narrowly short against Tommy Fury this past weekend in Saudi Arabia, Eddie Hearn has paid tribute to the popular YouTuber.
The Matchroom boss and Paul have worked together on numerous shows, but the pair have also been engaged in multiple spats with Paul taking offence to Hearn’s assessments of the novice’s boxing career.
Paul was beaten on a split decision by Fury as he suffered his first loss as a boxer at the hands of his great rival.
Despite being on the harsh end of the verdict, Paul can take some credit that he had his moments in the battle and was even able to drop Fury in the final session, which some believe that the American had done just enough.
“For the level of experience he has, which is none, I think he’s done unbelievably well,” said Hearn when appearing on The DAZN Boxing Show.
“For what he’s done, he’s done really well. He’s trained hard, he’s built the fundamentals, he’s tough, but you just don’t turn around at 23 and go ‘I’m gonna be a professional boxer’ then box at any level. From what he’s had, he’s done brilliant.”
