Eddie Hearn believes that former champions Kell Brook and Amir Khan could finally meet now that the pair are in the tail end of their careers.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has suggested that Kell Brook could finally fight fellow Briton Amir Khan.

When the pair were both at their peaks it was one of the most talked about possibilities in British boxing but it never got close enough to becoming a reality.

Speaking to IFL TV, the Matchroom boxing chief thinks it could be time to revive the possibility after Khan once again brought the topic up in a recent interview.

Khan now resides in Dubai and has entertained the idea of getting back into the ring to fight Brook after more than a year away from competitive action.

“He never wanted to do the fight when there was so much money involved,” Hearn said of Khan’s apparent change of heart.

“Now, there’s a lot less money involved, but I’d still like to do the fight. I messaged him the other day, ‘Do you want to talk about it?’

“He said, ‘Yeah, when I’m back from Dubai. We can have a chat.’ There’s still value in the fight. It’s not as big as it once was, but we’ll see.”

The pair of them are now well into their thirties at 34, but given their popularity and following a fight could still be economically viable.

Khan is a former IBF and WBA light-welterweight world champion, while Brook has held championship belts at welterweight and middleweight.

Brook was soundly beaten by Terence Crawford in his last fight, in 2020, while Khan last fought Billy Dib in 2019.
