Eddie Hearn revealed that he discussed Anfield as a potential venue for the UFC’s next fight in Britain.
Hearn was a guest of UFC head Dana White on Saturday as they hosted an event in London, and the two of them were pictured in conversation.
The Matchroom chief has spoken in the past as suggesting his own employees can learn from the marketing and production methods of the MMA organisation, and he told the DAZN Boxing Show what was up for discussion between the pair.
“It was amazing,” he began. “It was amazing to watch everything up close. It was amazing to see the UFC’s production in full flow and it was amazing to learn about the sport.
“He was extremely hospitable. It was a great energy, a great brand, a great event.
“There’s a lot more skill to it than a fight fan would think. I found it quite fascinating.
“He was saying, ‘All these Brits are winning, but we might have to come back in the summer.”
Hearn then revealed he put forward Liverpool’s ground as a potential venue.
“I was talking about stadiums here, we had two Scousers - we have Anfield.
“He was educating me about the fighters and also during the fight, ‘See the hold, he can’t breathe.’
“You can never be too naive to think you can’t watch and learn. You know my ego can get out of control but he’s a legendary promoter, Dana White."
