Eddie Hearn has given an update on his plans for Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in 2023.

The Mexican is currently recovering from a wrist injury, but already opponents are being lined up for the undisputed super middleweight champion.

Britain's very own John Ryder is one of the fighters who could find themselves facing Canelo Alvarez and there is a chance that contest could be staged in the UK according to Hearn.

"John [Ryder] is the mandatory challenger, it’s the perfect fight for Saul to what he says 'run-out' before Dmitry Bivol," Hearn told The DAZN Boxing Show

"John is on great form; we’ve just got to look for where that fight will take place.

"Our plans for Canelo Alvarez is John Ryder, then Dmitry Bivol if he’s successful and that’s the plan we’re putting together now.

"I would love to do it in Mexico or London."

Speaking in an exclusive interview with DAZN, a fight with Canelo Alvarez is something that Ryder would relish and why not after the Mexican pound-for-pound star experienced a mixed 2022 in the ring.

In May, Canelo Alvarez was beaten by WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol, before bringing the curtain down on a long-running rivalry four months later when he made easy work of Gennadiy Golovkin in their trilogy fight.
