The middleweight unification bout is an obvious superfight to make, and Hearn has access to both champions.

Eddie Hearn admitted he wants to see a middleweight unification fight between WBO titleholder Demetrius Andrade and IBF kingpin Gennadiy Golovkin, following Andrade's decision victory over Liam Williams on Saturday.

Andrade went to 30-0 with the 12-round success over his mandatory challenger, while Golovkin's next move after an easy December victory against Kamil Szeremeta remains to be seen.

Many in the fight community have called for the two to lock horns next in what would be a mouthwatering encounter, and Hearn — the man most likely to engineer such a showdown — agreed with the sentiment in an interview with IFL TV.

“Gennady’s talking about fighting [Ryota] Murata on December 31st (in Japan), but why not fight Andrade in the summer, in a unification fight,” Hearn said.

As interesting as it would be to see 'Triple G' step into the traditional New Year's Eve fight sport spotlight out in Japan, it does seem much more conceivable that the Kazakh star would put something between two December fights, especially as he just turned 39 and does not have a large number of fights left at the highest level.

Andrade, meanwhile, often encounters frustration in trying to find fighters willing to take him on, and it was a fearless and game Williams earning the right to a title opportunity that led to his first fight in 15 months.
