There could be a three-belt champion at 147lbs.

Errol Spence Jr. and Yordenis Ugas appear set for a welterweight unification clash in the first half of the year.

Spence holds the WBC and IBF belts, while Ugas won the WBA outright strap when he beat Yordenis Ugas in 2021 in an upset victory.

Terence Crawforld holds the WBO belt and after Ugas and Spence fight it out it means there could be a path to see an undisputed champion emerge by the time the new year is out.

Eimantas Stanionis and Radzhab Butaev will fight it out for the chance to meet the winner of Ugas vs. Spence.

“We are targeting March or April for the fight,” Ugas told Fox Sports, reported BoxingScene.com. “It’s a fight for three titles. It’s a fight that we want and are targeting the springtime.”

“The fight’s in April,” Spence said on Instagram. “Man down, strap season. He already know what time it is.”

Josh Taylor, the undisputed junior welterweight champion, could soon emerge as a challenge to the current title holders at some point in 2022.
