Errol Spence Jr. didn't feel inclined to say whether he'll defeat Manny Pacquiao via stoppage on Aug. 21. However, Spence did offer up what he feels will be "The Truth" in the aftermath of their highly-anticipated clash.
“I think he’ll definitely retire after this fight,” Spence said to Showtime's Brian Custer on Saturday night regarding Pacquiao following their bout.
“I don’t know (if I’ll stop him), we’ll see. You’ll have to tune in and order.”
That being said, Spence, the unified WBC/IBF welterweight champion, is still holding out hope that a showdown between him and WBO titleholder Terence Crawford can happen. The undefeated world champs have jawed at each other in the past but haven't been able to make their mega fight a reality.
Spence maintains hope that will change in the near future.
“I definitely want that fight, and we’ve just got to make it happen,” Spence added to Custer. “It’s for his guys and my guys to talk to each other and see if it can happen. If it can’t happen, I’ve got to move up.”
Of course, by "his guys and my guys," Spence is referring to Top Rank, the promotional banner Crawford fights under, and Premier Boxing Champions that counts "The Truth" as one of its fighters. In the past, the promotional outfits have had a frigid relationship.
