As the Errol Spence Jr.-Terence Crawford undisputed welterweight championship fight draws closer, prognasticators and fans alike are eager to play out different situations that could face the undefeated boxers Saturday night in the ring.
When the "Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson Podcast" tossed around a couple of situations, Spence didn't hesitate speaking "The Truth" for what he believes are two unfavorable paths for Crawford to take.
For starters, Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) assured his fans that he's prepared to win "by any means necessary" to become the first man in boxing history to be crowned undisputed welterweight champ.
That's when he went down two avenues that he insists won't bode well for "Bud" — making it clear that one outcome will be worse than the other for the WBO titleholder and Omaha, Nebraska native.
"If it goes long, I'll take him long rounds and I think it's a lot worse when it goes longer rounds and I'm beating on you," Spence began telling Tyson and DJ Whoo Kid. "I think that's more damaging than getting knocked out. You're getting beat up."
With the stakes at a fever pitch, the unified 147-pound champ says Crawford will "definitely fight back," but made sure to add "I don't know how long it's going to last."
Spence vowing that later rounds will be worse for Crawford coincides with part of what Shawn Porter told Showtime Sports on Tuesday.
Porter believes that if Crawford allows Spence to gain momentum that he could be in trouble.
"It's that momentum is building," Porter said of Spence's forward fighting, "and it becomes this avalanche of snow and it's hard to stop that."
