Spence confirmed his ambition on the DAZN Boxing Show

Errol Spence Jr. hopes that a deal to fight Terence Crawford can be made.

Spence is lined up to fight WBA champion Yordenis Ugas, with his own IBF and WBC belts on the line at the same time. Whoever wins that bout would logically then want to tee up an undisputed clash at 147lbs.

Crawford is currently a free agent after leaving Top Rank, and Spence told the DAZN Boxing Show that he believes that it may now be easier to make a might.

“It wasn’t my first thought,” he said. “Talking to my manager, the people that he’s dealing with now, I think it’s a lot easier to be made. We’ll see what happens after the Ugas thing. If I have three belts.

“A lot of people want me to say this and that, but the proof is in the pudding of what I’m doing. I’m fighting for my third belt, let’s get something on the table so I can fight for a fourth belt.”

Spence had been due to take on Manny Pacquiao last year until an eye injury forced him to pull out, opening the way for Cuban fighter Ugas to shock the world of boxing with an impressive display of his own to become world champion.

The American is not complacent when it comes to preparing for Ugas, though.

“He’s a solid fighter, he comes from the school of Cuban boxing, sound fundamentals . He's got a good stepback, throws body shots well, good jab. He’s fundamentally sound.

“He makes a few mistakes but I like him.”
