The former IBF junior lightweight champion has backed his associate.

Jojo Diaz predicted that Errol Spence Jr will beat Manny Pacquiao when the pair meet this August.

Many in boxing have acknowledged that Spence is the favourite going into the fight at 31-years-old, while Pacquiao is coming out of semi-retirement at 42 to contest Spence’s IBF and WBC welterweight belts.

Speaking with the DAZN Boxing Show, Diaz acknowledged it would not be easy, but Spence is the favourite.

“That's a tough, tough fight, man. But I gotta go with Spence. Errol Spence is a dog, man,” he began.

“And he's, you know, dealt with a lot and overcame a lot of adversity. Oh man, he's a hard, hard worker. And if he has his mind to something, he's gonna go after it and accomplish it, man. That's the thing about Errol.

“Ever since I grew up, I grew up with him and I've always seen that type of work ethic with him. So, I'm going with my boy, Errol Spence. It's gonna be a tough fight, but he's gonna pull it off. He's one of the hardest workers.”
