Fabio Wardley's keys to victory
Set the pace, tone
Wardley used his speed well at times during the original fight and must do it more so with the jab to throw Clarke off his rhythm and frustrate him around the ring.
Forcing Clarke to move could go ways to tiring him and setting him up for a knockdown punch — like the prodding straight right hand that dropped him with a thud in the fifth round of their original clash.
Make more deposits to the body
We saw Wardley’s ability to load up with the right hook and clang it off Clarke’s midsection in the first fight but he didn’t do it nearly enough.
Making more of these deposits to the body could force Clarke to lower his hands just enough to be susceptible to that right hook upstairs.
Unload the right hook around the guard
Their first clash was proof that Clarke didn’t have any answers for Wardley’s right hook that kept finding a home around his guard.
If Wardley can properly time this shot, perhaps it will be enough to make Clarke taste the canvas in the rematch toward a rousing win.

Be the bigger man
Far too often, Clarke allowed Wardley to set the pace in their March fight and that’s despite the former having arguably better hand speed.
He cannot afford to let this happen again. Clarke must move as the bigger man and bully Wardley backwards. That means establishing the front foot and staying on it, while anticipating Wardley's right hook.
Double up on the jab
Clarke can and should double up on his left jab to split Wardley’s guard and keep that stick in his face over the course of this fight.
Asserting the jab as a weapon will open pathways for bigger punches to land.
Sneak in the uppercut
Just as Clarke didn’t have an answer for Wardley’s right hook around the guard, Wardley couldn’t figure out Clarke’s sneaky uppercuts straight up the middle.
If these compact uppercuts are timed better, can Clarke muster enough on them to put Wardley down?
He should certainly try.
