Felix Cash vs. Jason Welborn: Time, TV channel and live stream for Fight Camp Week 3DAZN
Felix Cash meets Jason Welborn in a Commonwealth Middleweight Championship main event on Friday 14 August.

Week 3 of Matchroom Boxing’s Fight Camp begins on Friday from the backyard of the company’s office in Brentwood, Essex, England. The main event is a Commonwealth middleweight championship bout between holder Felix Cash and challenger Jason Welborn.

It’s the third week of Fight Camp and comes after last Friday’s card headlined by Terri Harper and Tasha Jonas. Fans are still not able to attend sporting events, but Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn is considering continuing the outdoor fights into September, telling talkSPORT: “We’ve got some outrageous plans.

“If we keep going the way we’re going, if the interest in Fight Camp keeps rolling, then there is a chance you might see us extend here into September.”

Felix Cash (12-0, 8 KOs) last fought in November 2019, when he defeated Jack Cullen at a Commonwealth middleweight event. The 27-year-old Briton made his debut just over four years ago and remains undefeated since his first win, over Yailton Neves at the O2 Arena.

Cash is confident that he has the edge of his opponent, saying: “He comes to fight and he’s strong. He’s a tough man and he’s been in with some top operators. I won’t take anything away from him, but he’s also been beaten by those top operators

“Every time he gets into the ring with a top operator, he seems to come up short, and I believe I am a top operator. He will make it tough for a few rounds, but I’ll get him in the end.”

At 34, Welborn (24-8, 7 KOs) has seven years on his rival and made his debut as far back as 2005 when he fought Jamie Ambler to begin his professional career with a win. The former British middleweight title holder is looking to overcome two consecutive defeats, the most recent coming in June 2019 against James Metcalf in their Commonwealth Super welterweight title clash.

Welborn had plenty to say to disparage his rival, accusing him of having an easy time of it with Matchroom, saying: “He’s been with Matchroom as soon as he turned pro.

“Not many people have done what I’ve done for the Black Country. He’s had it fed with a silver spoon. If I’d have had his backing I’d have probably been a World Champion. I’ve always had the heart and the hunger for boxing. I’ve just never had the backing or the support where I can train full time.”
