Mayweather has been in contact with Floyd's family.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. will pay for the funeral services of George Floyd, according to a Mayweather representative who spoke to ESPN.

Floyd died last week in Minneapolis after now-former police officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on his neck for more than eight minutes. Chauvin was fired and charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. Floyd's death has sparked ongoing protests across the country.

"He'll probably get mad at me for saying that, but yes, [Mayweather] is definitely paying for the funeral," Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, told ESPN.

Ellerbe said Mayweather has been in communication with Floyd's family, and they have accepted Mayweather's offer. According to TMZ, Mayweather offered to cover expenses for services in Houston, Minnesota, Charlotte and another location.

Anzel Jennings, the CEO of Mayweather's TMT music label, grew up with Floyd, according to TMZ.
