Floyd Mayweather Jr. will fight Don Moore in an exhibition fight on the Burj Al Arab Hotel helipad in Dubai, UAE on Saturday.
The two are former sparring partners, with Mayweather logging in some rounds with Moore to prepare for his retirement fight against Andre Berto in September 2015. (He rather notoriously came out of retirement to produce his 50 pro victory via a 10-round TKO of MMA superstar Conor McGregor in August 2017).
Perhaps that compels you enough to plop down $29.99. Or maybe you’ll elect to keep that in your pocket.
Either way, just please don’t complain about it.

Whether it’s fighting Tenshin Nasukawa at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan back on New Year’s Eve in December 2018, YouTube sensation Logan Paul at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami last June or Moore on a damn helipad in Dubai, just let Mayweather rock.
- Before Dmitry Bivol’s massive upset against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez last weekend, Mayweather was the first and sole man to hand the Mexican a loss.
- It was Mayweather who simply outclassed veterans such as Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Shane Mosley with relative ease.
- It was Mayweather’s sweet science that outpointed a rugged, bullish Miguel Cotto.
- And although it took place years late, Mayweather left little to no doubts about who the best boxer of his generation was in a unanimous decision victory over Manny Pacquiao in May 2015.
When you fight your name into “The Best Ever” debate as Mayweather has done, you more than earned the right to do as you please.
If he wants to box in an exhibition bout every now and then, let him. From a competitive standpoint, hopefully Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. fight for the undisputed welterweight crown. Mayweather isn’t throwing his name in that mix. He’s simply going out there to show that he’s still got it even at 45-years-old, while raking in whatever money comes with that proving point.
Nothing wrong with that. Mayweather loves boxing. He loves money. These exhibition bouts allow him to reap both.
What piques my interest with this fight is the damn helipad it’s taking on. How often do you get that? It’s unique. The look of it alone and backdrop should be incredible. It’s the show and spectacle of it all that stands out for me.
Not as buzzworthy as Mayweather’s clash with Paul, which included younger brother Jake Paul going viral for snatching Money’s hat off his head during the fight buildup, but peculiar in a good way nonetheless.
If it sparks your curiosity enough, you might be willing to pay for the Mayweather-Moore exhibition bout. If it doesn’t, you should pass.
But either way, just don’t complain about it. It’s an exhibition boxing match.
Take it for just that or leave it alone.
