The boxing legend still believes he will fight the YouTube celebrity in 2021.

Floyd Mayweather believes that he will still fight YouTube celebrity Logan Paul after the original date for the pay-per-view fight was put back.

The duo was expected to fight in an exhibition on February 20 in an event funded by the Fanmio app. However, the plans were then postponed, with a new date yet to be confirmed. A summer event could conjure up more profits if the coronavirus pandemic markedly recedes as it would allow spectators into an event to raise meaningful ticket sales. Speaking to TMZ, Mayweather confirmed that he anticipated that a clash would still go ahead.

"I know it's going to happen. We're just going to make sure everything's right. Everything's where it should be," Mayweather said. "I'm not in training, but I always try and maintain my weight and keep my body in some type of good condition. I'm not in the best shape of my life, but I'm in good shape. I can take my shirt off at the beach."

Mayweather last fought in August 2017 when he completed a 50-0 unbeaten record after winning titles at five different weight classes. His final opponent in a professional setting was UFC fighter Conor McGregor, though he fought Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa on New Year's Eve in 2018.

The 25-year-old fighter Paul has fought twice, once in an exhibition against fellow YouTube star KSI, before losing a professional rematch to him in 2019.
