Former Anthony Joshua rival, Jarrell Miller, set for ring return

Former Anthony Joshua rival, Jarrell Miller, set for ring returnDAZN
Jarrell Miller has not fought since 2018.

Jarrell Miller’s long-awaited return to the boxing ring is almost here. The disgraced heavyweight, who has failed multiple drug tests during his fighting career, returns to the ring on June 25th when he faces Nigeria’s Onoriode Ehwarieme on a card that’s being promoted by Triller, reports BoxingScene

The bout will be Miller’s first taste of action since he stopped Bogdan Dinu in four rounds back in November 2018. That fight was intended to be a platform towards bigger events and the Brooklyn man was revealed to be Anthony Joshua’s next opponent with a contest scheduled for the summer of 2019 inside Madison Square Garden.

Miller tested positive for a banned substance in the build-up to his fight and was subsequently replaced by Andy Ruiz, who would defeat ‘AJ’ in seven rounds. Whilst his substitute opponent would lap up mainstream exposure and another lucrative payday in a Saudi Arabia rematch, Miller would have to serve a punishment.

Ahead of a 2020 showdown with Jerry Forrest, Miller once again tested positive for a banned substance and was handed a two-year backdated suspension. That ends in the middle of June and Miller will be back in the ring shortly afterwards as he looks to make up for lost time and secure another world title shot.
