Anthony Joshua wants to keep active.

Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is in a bullish mood as he plots his next move.

Joshua continues to send messages to the rest of the heavyweight division with his performances inside the ring, with his latest being a second round knockout win against Francis Ngannou last month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Following the victory over Ngannou, it looks like Joshua is being lined up to face the winner of the undisputed clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk on May 18, but with a rematch clause likely to be in place, Joshua may have to wait a little longer for his attempt to become a three-time world champion.

Joshua however is eager to stay active while he awaits his shot at glory and in an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, he spoke about when he is likely to return to the ring for the second time this year.

“Around September is when I’ve been told – I was hoping for June,” Joshua said.

“I’ve got some time to go on dates now and mingle a little bit. I’m training at the minute. I’ve got two months before I get into training camp.

“No, [I don’t know the opponent], but I think what they’re saying is, ‘Be patient’, because you’ve got Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk for all the belts. And then once that’s done, hopefully, I can kick down the door and get my opportunity."
