An undisputed heavyweight title bout between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will not take place in December.
That’s the verdict of Simon Jordan, once Crystal Palace chairman and now a radio personality, who claims he has sources who’ve told him there’s no way the eagerly anticipated clash will happen this year.
For weeks at the start of 2023, Fury and Usyk were both engaged in lengthy talks regarding a meeting at the end of April, but a deal could not be arranged.
As it stands, Usyk appears to be set to defend his world titles against Daniel Dubois while Fury’s next move is unknown. Jordan isn't hopeful the pair fight anytime soon.
“I’m being told that there’s no way Tyson Fury’s fighting in Saudi in December,” said Jordan on Talkboxing on Talksport show. “And that there’s a long way between this fight being made.
“Discussions are ongoing, but I’ve been told by relatively reliable sources that this is not happening in December, this will not happen in December.”
