Former two-weight world champion says his next fight will be a war

Former two-weight world champion says his next fight will be a warEd Mullholland/Matchroom
A big fight takes place this month.

Oscar Valdez is predicting that his upcoming battle with Liam Wilson will deliver and has gone as far as saying it will be a ‘war.’

The super-featherweight clash takes place later this month and the victor will be in a great position to push on and challenge for a world title later in the year.

Valdez, who’s held world titles at this weight and down at featherweight, is fully aware of the threat posed by the Australian fighter.

Last year, both men shared the ring with Emmanuel Navarette with Valdez being outpointed and Wilson getting stopped, with the latter being one of the fights of the year.

Valdez is expecting similar action when he finally gets into the ring with Wilson on March 29 (live on ESPN+ in the US)

“After seeing him in there with Navarrete and knowing my style, this will definitely be war,” said Valdez when speaking to FightNews

“It will be a fan-friendly fight. I’ve seen that he has a lot of heart when he fought Navarrete. But we’re going to see who has more heart and who wants it more.”
