Could we see Francis Ngannou later this year?

The December 23rd undisputed superfight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is likely to move into next year but that may not stop show planners from still staging an event on that date.

Francis Ngannou’s impressive showing against Fury has earned widespread acclaim amongst the boxing industry and his newfound popularity could see him fight again before the end of the year.

Boxing News, the world’s oldest fight magazine, has reported that organisers in Saudi are eager to get back Ngannou back in the ring against a leading heavyweight contender.

Currently at the front of the queue to face Ngannou are Zhilei Zhang and Joseph Parker, and those two are the preferred names to be in the opposite corner to Ngannou this Christmas.

After impressing in The Middle East last month, Moses Itauma and Martin Bakole are expected to feature on the show if it goes ahead.

The planned date for Fury vs. Usyk is looking like February and confirmation on that could be announced in the coming weeks.
