Hamzah Sheerez scored the biggest win of his career this weekend when he blasted former world title challenger, Liam Williams, in one round.
The Welshman had been expected to represent a stern test for Sheeraz but after he was dropped twice in the opening session, William’s corner stepped in with their man under further attack.
The win will surely elevate Sheeraz into the world title picture and he made his intentions clear that he would like to face Chris Eubank Jr.
Frank Warren, Sheeraz’s promoter, has guided many prospects to the top and he likes what he sees in the highly talented middleweight.
“He reminds me of Tommy Hearns, he’s probably got the best jab [around]. He doesn’t feel you out with it, he takes your head off,” said Warren when speaking to TNT Sports after the fight.
“He’s a thorough professional. I genuinely believe tonight a star is born. I believe he will win a world title and he will hold that title as long as he likes.
“There couldn’t be a better advertisement for boxing. He’s an absolute star. He represents modern Britain, and he does it in a fantastic way.”
