The proposed fight between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury appears no closer to being resuscitated, according to the Briton’s promoter Frank Warren.

The unbeaten light heavyweight was expected to face Paul, who fights at cruiserweight, last December, but Fury had to pull out with a broken rib and a bacterial chest infection.

With a fight date to fulfill, the American YouTuber set up a rematch with former UFC champion Tyron Woodley, and Paul delivered a brutal knockout, before announcing he would step away from the ring.

In the meantime he has focused on promoting Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano at New York’s Madison Square Garden but is expected to fight again this August, with speculation it would lead to a bout with Fury being rescheduled. However Warren does not think that will take place any time soon, if at all.

"We have got a couple of things we are working on at the moment, we have got to announce something soon because he has itchy feet," Warren explained to IFL TV

"[Fury] wants to get out there he wants to be out in the next few months so we will work something out.

"I still want to do the fight with Jake and I would still like to get that on. It is still realistic from our end but who knows from their end, but of course we would like to see that happen. There was a few discussions initially but we will see what happens."
