Galal Yafai believes the time is right for him to face Sunny Edwards in his professional journey, saying that he wants to discover who is the better fighter between the pair.
The two are set to meet at Birmingham's BP Pulse Live in November, almost a decade on from an amateur bout that Edwards won by split decision.
Since then, Yafai has contested two Olympic Games, winning gold at Tokyo 2020, while his rival has been IBF flyweight world champion, losing the belt last December
With just eight fights as a professional to his name, Yafai is theoretically much earlier in his journey than Edwards, but he firmly believes the time is right to settle their score.
"I think [it is now]," he told DAZN. "But we'll find out in November. I want to know the answers as much as everyone else.
"He thinks that he’s better than me, and I think that I’m better than him. We’ll prove it when we step in the ring."

Yafai fought last month, with a third-round victory over Sergio Oliva, but acknowledges this fight has been in the pipeline for the past quarter of the year too.
"I think probably three months ago was when we first heard about it," he added. "It didn't take too long to get to negotiations. If the money is correct, the fight happens."
"Sunny’s a great opponent, a former world champion [and] we’ve got history. I think it makes for an all-British blockbuster. The fans are in for a treat when we step into the ring."
