Gennadiy Golovkin dismisses Chris Eubank Jr. talk - 'It just looks cheap'DAZN
The IBF champion is not interested in rival fighters' ambitions.

Gennadiy Golovkin has brushed aside Chris Eubank Jr’s desire to fight with the middleweight saying he has ‘stopped paying attention’ to rivals using his name.

Eubank Jr fights Liam Willaims tonight in Cardiff and has talked of wanting to follow up the match-up with a title shot later in the year, with IBF champion Golovkin in his sights.

Unsurprisingly, the 39-year-old champion has plenty of options and willing opponents, and told Sky Sports that he does not focus on mentions from others.

"I have stopped paying attention to people calling me out,” he said.

"It's the same thing. People claim things, they say that they have certain arrangements.

"It just looks cheap. It's not worth my attention at all."

‘GGG’ had been due to fight WBA champion Ryota Murata in December and a rescheduled fight is expected.

However the champion would be ready to return to Britain after beating Kell Brook back in 2016 - a match that had meant to be Golovkin vs. Eubank Jr.: "I remember coming to the UK. I liked that night, I enjoyed it. It was an entertaining fight.

"I would not limit myself to any individual country.

"It depends on many factors. I'm sure the conditions offered for a fight in the United States or in my home country of Kazakhstan would not be any worse than those offered in the UK.

"So let's be realistic."
