William Zepeda compared how he would approach a fight with Shakur Stevenson compared to a bout against Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis.
Both Americans are unbeaten, and both are champions in the lightweight division.
Davis is the WBA champion while Stevenson will defeat his WBC strap against Artem Harutyunyan on Saturday night (live on ESPN in the US).
Stevenson has struggled to dominate at lightweight as he had at junior lightweight, while Davis is probably the most feared man at the weight.
Zepeda is yet to land a title at lightweight but is aiming to fight either titlist in the future. He fights Giovanni Cabrera on DAZN this Saturday.
Speaking to BoxingScene, he broke down how things would differ.
He sadi: “I could try to attack Shakur [Stevenson] a little bit more as opposed to Tank, who I would need to watch for what I am throwing and not throw the same punches all of the time.
“He's someone who knows and who studies.
“He's not only good on the attack but he knows exactly when to counter and take those shots. So it would definitely be more difficult.
“Gervonta is probably the most difficult fighter in our division. Not only can he box, but he can punch.”
