AnEsonGib is leaving Doha with the bragging rights following his majority decision win over the undefeated Slim to become the Misfits super middleweight champion.
Gib made no secret in the build-up that Slim was by far the best boxer under the Misfits Boxing banner and in the first two rounds, it showed.
Slim was the smoother operator with Gib struggling to get close to his opponent, and when he did, it got messy.
The challenger leaned into this and realised the one way to negate Slim was to get him in the clinch and chip away.
In the third, a Gib uppercut rocked Slim and then in the fourth, the former used the clinch to his advantage and landed a number of body shots when the two were tied up.
This was a common pattern for the following four rounds as Slim was unable to get anything going with signs of exhaustion becoming more evident.
Once the final bell sounded, it was clear who won, and while one judge scored the bout a 76-76 draw, the other two judges awarded the win to Gib with scores of 78-74 and 79-73.
For the new Misfits super middleweight champion, a clash with Salt Papi could be on the cards after he produced arguably the performance of the night with a third round knockout over King Kenny in the co-main event.
There was also a win for Deji who made his long awaited comeback with a second round stoppage win over Dawood Savage.
