Promoter Eddie Hearn wants Katie Taylor to fight the winner of Jessica McCaskill and Cecilia Brækhus.

The welterweight pair reportedly are set to fight for the undisputed division title in January, and Taylor is ready to move up two divisions to fight the victor.

The Irish fighter beat her WBA mandatory challenger Miriam Gutierrez of Spain on Saturday night, winning via a unanimous points decision. The IBF appear next in line to force a fight, with Jennifer Han their mandatory fighter.

Taylor has spoken in the past of being willing to move up in weight in order to meet other opponents.

Speaking of a proposed fight from Brækhus vs. McCaskill, Hearn told Boxing Scene: “That will probably be her next fight.

“The problem is Katie is so keen to box, I am not joking when I say she will be asking me if she can box again this year.

“She goes back to see her family for a week then she wants to get back into camp.”

Taylor has discussed her willingness to fight MMA fighter Cris Cyborg, but Hearn was less keen on a match-up.

“That fight is all about the money,” explained Hearn.

“Cyborg is big. Scott Coker says they want to do one boxing and one MMA. I think it is brilliant for the crossover and exposure for the sport, but we will see what happens.”

Hearn returned to his pet theme of suggesting that four belts per division gets in the way of making high-profile fights that sustain the sport, and he suggested Han would make a mediocre opponent.

“That was her first WBA mandatory in three years of being champion,” said Hearn.

“Now the IBF want to call one and she is not very good either.

“The undisputed thing is still a big thing, especially in women’s boxing. I want to get an undisputed champion in every division.

“The sport is not big enough to have four champions in every division.”
