Michael Hunter believes Oleksandr Usyk has what it takes to cause a small upset if he ever faces Tyson Fury.
Hunter shared the ring with Usyk when challenging for cruiserweight glory in 2017 but he was well beaten by the talented Ukrainian as he lost a wide points decision before later moving to heavyweight.
Usyk continues to be linked to a bout with Fury but despite lengthy conversation between both teams, an official bout still appears to be some way off.
Fury is set to face Francis Ngannou in a crossover contest later this year but talk of a Usyk fight won’t go away. Hunter has had his say on the potential heavyweight classic.
“I still see Usyk giving Tyson the blues,” said Hunter when speaking to Seconds Out. “The power is the only thing. He’s going to have to figure out how to gain his respect and win rounds.
“Usyk is a fleet footed fighter, and he’s going to have to gain some of Tyson’s respect in the earlier rounds.
“I see Usyk still giving him fits though. It’s very controversial, but I still think Usyk gives him problems because he has problems with fighters that are our size and use their feet a lot.”
