Saturday at Co-op Live in Manchester, England, and live on DAZN, marked the stage where Campbell Hatton tried to avenge a loss to James Flint.
The son of legendary fighter, Ricky Hatton, didn't get that revenge though, as Flint scored a unanimous decision over Campbell in their rematch. Judges scored it 97-94, 96-94 and 96-95 all in favor of Flint.
The fight was an explosive one in which Hatton had to overcome an early cut over his left eye due to an accidental clashing of the heads.
Seeing his own blood sparked a spirited reaction from Hatton who took it to Flint in the third round, setting off a fiery fight the rest of the way through.
Both men stood in the pocket admirably, engaging in fireworks across a majority of the 10 rounds with heated exchanges.
That said, Flint got the better of those exchanges, especially in the ninth round where he repeatedly found a home with his uppercuts and left hooks to split Hatton's guard.
At the end, Campbell dropped his second straight bout to a sharper Flint, with his first loss to his rival coming back in March.
