Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's first fight in Mexico was his professional debut against Abraham Gonzalez on October 29, 2005.

After knocking out Gonzalez in the fourth round of their clash, Alvarez has gone onto fight in Mexico a further 33 times and has not lost any of those contests.

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's last fight in Mexico was on November 26, 2011. 

The Mexican was making the third defence of his WBC world light middleweight title against Kermit Cintron in Mexico City and it was fight which Alvarez dominated. 

After knocking down Cintron in round four, Alvarez increased the pressure and unloaded a series of stinging shots on Cintron which forced the referee to stop the fight midway through the fifth round.
