With just three months to go until his proposed return, there is no update on who unified lightweight champion George Kambsos Jr will be facing next.
In the eyes of Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn, it will be WBC champion Devin Haney in an undisputed title fight.
Vasiliy Lomachenko was set originally set to face Kambosos, but the current conflict in Ukraine has all but scuppered this potential contest.
Now a fight with Haney is looking likely for the Australian.
"I believe this fight is going to get to closed," Hearn told The DAZN Boxing Show when asked about an update on Kambosos Jr vs. Haney.
"I think that obviously the Ukraine situation with Lomachenko rules him out of the mix as well here.
"Talks have been very positive between DAZN and Matchroom, Haney, DAZN and Lou DiBella. I just feel that we can close this fight and it’s a must-make.
"The undisputed lightweight world championship in a stadium, in Australia, give George Kambosos his day. Give Devin Haney, who I believe is one of the biggest emerging stars in the sport, his opportunity to become undisputed champion.
"If George wins, we can run it back in America, not a problem."
