Momentum is beginning to gather as to whom Tyson Fury could face next.
The WBC world heavyweight claimed he would retire after beating Dillian Whyte in April at Wembley Stadium, but that hasn't stopped the world's number one heavyweight being linked with exhibition contests.
A date with UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou seemed to be on the cards immediately after Fury's win over Whyte, but now there are signs that the 33-year-old maybe preparing to instead face strongman Thor Björnsson.
Speaking to Boxing Social, Fury's promoter Frank Warren dismissed whether an announcement on Fury's next move, exhibition or not, was imminent.
"Nothing to say, that’s it," Warren said.
"I don’t know if he’s [Tyson Fury] going to have an exhibition, what is there to worry about in an exhibition?
"An exhibition is an exhibition."
However, when speaking exclusively to DAZN courtesy of FreeBets.com, Tyson's father John Fury expects his son to return to the ring in the not so distant future.
“He says to me he's done, I hear it every day, but no one knows him as well as I do. He can wake up one morning and say ‘Right, back in the gym. Game on. Who've I got in front of me?’ That's just Tyson. He's got nothing else; he lives such a mundane life out of the boxing world, and even he will get sick of that shortly," Fury said.
“He's enjoying some well-earned rest. He'll have a few exhibitions and he'll enjoy himself but if AJ beats Usyk, which is a tall order, but IF he does, then it's game on. Tyson's not going to be able to resist that.”
