Is Regis Prograis interested in a Josh Taylor rematch at welterweight?DAZN

WBC super lightweight champion Regis Prograis has expressed an interest in facing former undisputed 140lb champion Josh Taylor for a second time.

However, there are some roadblocks including the weight for the contest after Taylor suggested that the bout should take place at welterweight.

Prograis and Taylor first met in October 2019 for the WBA and IBF super lightweight titles in London, and on that occasion it was Taylor who emerged victorious via a majority decision following a thrilling fight at the O2 Arena.

Since then, Prograis has rebuilt, claimed the WBC super lightweight title and is eager to unify, but if the opportunity to face Taylor did present itself, it's a fight which he would be eager to pursue.

"I want it bro, it’s definitely serious," Prograis responded on The DAZN Boxing Show when asked about a potential rematch with Taylor.

"I’ve got the belt, I’ve got the power, I’ve got the control, I think it all depends.

"I want to unify and be undisputed. I guess when the opportunity comes around, I want to see what’s going to be better.

"If the Josh Taylor situation comes around, it’s something that I will explore."

Prograis returns to action on June 17 when defends his WBC 140lb belt against Liam Paro live on DAZN
