Dangerous Mexican fighter Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz will not give up on his plans until he is crowned world champion, but first he will have to get past Eduardo Ramirez on September 4.

This 12-round bout, for the WBC silver lightweight crown, will feature on the undercard of Andy Ruiz vs. Luis Ortiz.

"We are expecting a very entertaining fight and I hope Ramirez does his part to entertain the crowd. Yes he's a southpaw, but that's what we're preparing for. We have a great work plan," Cruz told DAZN

However, the plans do not stop at "El Zurdito" Ramirez, Cruz's promoter ,Sean Gibbons, revealed that a second fight for a world title is very close and could happen in 2023, depending on how the pieces fall into place in the lightweight division.

"This fight on September 4 is the most important fight for him right now, we are not getting complacent. If he beats Eduardo Ramirez we will have to wait to see what happens with Kambosos vs. Haney 2. If he wins on September 4 we will basically be the WBC mandatory and so we will make decisions on our next move," Gibbons said.

"I personally see Isaac fighting for the championship in 2023. It would be huge to land one more fight this year, but I don't see it for now. I see Isaac coming back in January or February and possibly if Haney wins we don't know if he will stay in the division or move up. Isaac is in a great position right now, because if he wins he's the mandatory challenger, if he wins we'll wait and see what happens."
