Chris Mannix and Sergio Mora debated the Mexican's future on The DAZN Boxing Show.

Jaime Munguia has reached a crucial crossroads in his career following his third round knockout win against D'Mitrius Ballard.

With 39 fights on his resume, and five into his journey in the middleweight division, may boxing fans and experts believe the Mexican is ready to challenge for a world title, including Chris Mannix and Sergio Mora.

Speaking on JABS following Munguia's win, Mora believes the 25-year-old now needs to go head-to-head with some of the middleweight division's biggest names.

"He’s definitely ready and I am one of the people that’s clamouring for it as well because Jaime Munguia has been groomed the right way," Mora said.

"He has 39 fights and he’s doing that on the big stage, he’s a former champion, undefeated, we know who the big dogs are at 160.

"There’s only a couple of names, undefeated champions and those are the names I think he needs to face next.

"Jaime Munguia has faced fringe contenders, tough guys, strong punchers, but he hasn’t faced championship level, he hasn’t faced the elite, especially at middleweight, it’s time to see that."

Mannix echoed similar thoughts.

"Not only is it time, it’s well past time," Mannix began.

"Jaime Munguia is five fights into his run at 160lbs, he has fought every gatekeeper you could possibly face.

"He fought Kamil Szeremeta, he knocked him out. He fought Gabe Rosado, went the distance and dominated that fight, he just knocked out an undefeated D’Mitrius Ballard, there are no other gatekeepers out there for him to fight.

"It’s sink or swim time I believe for Jaime Munguia and I think it’s more likely than not he swims in this analogy.

"Jaime has gotten a lot better under Erik Morales, he thinks in the ring, he’s powerful, he fits that weight really, really well."

With Munguia currently occupying the top spot in the WBO's middleweight rankings, there is only one man Mannix thinks the Mexican should face next and that's the WBO 160lb champion.

"I think it’s time Sergio for Jaime Munguia-Demetrius Andrade, that fight needs to happen.

"A lot of people consider Demetrius Andrade the ‘boogeyman’ of the 160lb division. We know Andrade is really good, but he’s not unbeatable.

"This Jaime Munguia we saw on Saturday night, he is fully capable of beating Demetrius Andrade."
