The two middleweights could fight for Charlo's WBO belt.

Jaime Munguia is considering a fight with Jermall Charlo this summer, according to reports.

The Mexican middleweight fighter will take on Janibek Alimkhanuly if a purse bid deal is agreed for the Kazakhstan fighter in a WBO interim title fight.

That would set him up a WBO title fight later down the line, but ESPN believe that he has been offered the chance to fight the current WBC belt holder Jermell Charlo in June or July.

The unbeaten middleweights would be a high-profile fight between two credible opponents, and follows on from Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez’s suggestion that the biggest names around the divisions should fight one another in order to earn the right to take him on later in his career.

Were Alimkhanuly denied his fight at an eliminator with Munguia, it could see Chris Eubank Jr. step in.
