Ever since the fight was announced two weeks ago, boxing fans across the world haven't been afraid to show their excitement for Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano on April 30th which is exclusively live on DAZN.
However, one man who doesn't seem to take much notice is Top Rank boss Bob Arum. The 90-year-old is planning to stage a super featherweight unification fight between Oscar Valdez and Shakur Stevenson on the same night and claimed in a recent interview with IFL TV that there isn't much interest in women's boxing.
When asked by Ak and Barak about the comments, Serrano and her promoter Jake Paul didn't hold back.
"We’ll show you on April 30th," Serrano stated on The DAZN Boxing Show.
"You guys are here, we have a lot of interviews, there’s interest in women’s boxing, especially this fight because of two great pound-for-pound fighters.
"We’ll show you on April 30th, tune in and we’ll put on one hell of a show."
After recently releasing a diss track aimed at the UFC's Dana White, Paul also contemplated whether he should make one for Arum.
"A diss track!? I should," Paul said.
"His time in boxing is coming to an end, he doesn’t get it anymore.
"Those old guys don’t really get the new way to promote.
"It’s a misogynistic comment and not to be held accountable, it actually upsets me."
Serrano then went onto explain why the YouTube star is a different type of promoter when it comes to the sport of boxing.
"Jake Paul is a different promoter because he’s a fighter as well," Serrano began.
"He knows what it takes to be the best, what it takes to go in that gym and work really hard, to get punched in the face, having to diet.
"He understands the sport in the ring so it’s easier for him to respect a fighter and want to promote them and want to help them.
"He knows what it takes."
